Uveitis

Uveitis, or inflammation of the uveal tissue, is a common condition in horses due to the highly vascular nature, immunosensitivity, and close proximity of the uveal tissue to other ocular structures. The uveal tissue includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Early assessment and continuous monitoring are crucial to prevent long-term damage and complications.
